How does it work?

Step 1. Add employees and create a QR code

To get started, you need to register in the system, add employees, and create a unique QR code that should be placed at the entrance to the workplace or at workstations.

Step 2. Scan the QR code

Employees scan the QR code when arriving at and leaving work using their mobile phones, without the need to install additional apps.

Step 3. Track attendance and working hours

When scanning the QR code, the system records the employee's geolocation, arrival or departure time, calculates working hours, and generates ready-made reports, including a timesheet.

The author of the service is Oleg Klyuiko, a developer from Minsk.

Initially, the project was created as an educational one for learning new technologies, but later it proved useful for businesses and continued to actively develop.

Data is hosted on a server in Russia (Beget hosting, Saint Petersburg).

Contact information is stored in encrypted form — it cannot be decrypted without the key.

Additionally, the following measures are used:

  • two-factor server authentication
  • database password protection
  • regular software updates

Yes. If the employee's location cannot be determined, the check-in will still be recorded.

A notification will appear in the admin panel indicating that geolocation was not determined.

In most cases, geolocation works correctly. If the location is not determined, the reason is usually related to the phone or browser, not the service.

This can be affected by:

  • weak GPS signal indoors
  • disabled geolocation or power saving mode
  • geolocation access denied for the website in the browser
  • unstable internet
  • outdated device or browser

Usually, the problem can be resolved by reopening the page or explicitly allowing geolocation for the website in the browser settings.

Even if the location cannot be determined, the employee will still be able to check in — the administrator will simply see a notification about the absence of geolocation.

The system will still record the check-in, but a warning with the distance from the designated point will appear in the admin panel.

This helps quickly spot possible violations or errors.

Yes. One QR code can be used for the entire organization.

If necessary, you can create multiple QR codes — for example, for different entrances, branches, or locations.

You can share the QR code, but it won't be possible to check in for another employee without being noticed.

The system records the device used for scanning. If an employee uses someone else's phone, the administrator will see a corresponding warning.

No. A regular phone camera is sufficient for check-in.

A PWA app is also available — it can be installed through the browser. It includes:

  • QR scanner
  • information about worked shifts
  • check-in history

There are no limits on the number of employees.

Not yet — employees are added manually.

Excel import is on the list of planned features.

The system will report that the number was not found, and the check-in will not be recorded.

Not yet.

Integration with 1C and an open API are already on the list of planned features.

Role-based access is not available yet — sharing login and password gives full access.

A role system (administrator, manager, view-only) is already planned.

Yes.

An employee can log in to staff.qr-control.com using their phone number and view:

  • their check-ins
  • visit history
  • worked hours

The page can also be installed on a phone as an app (PWA).

Yes.

The service has a department system. If necessary, you can create a separate department even for a single employee and set an individual work schedule.

No.

Instead, a PWA app is used — it's a web application that can be installed through the browser and works almost like a regular app on Android and iPhone.

No. A phone with a camera is sufficient for work.

QR code scanning works directly through the browser, without installing additional apps.

The PWA app is available as an additional convenience, but is not required.

No. The service's source code is closed.
